Do you ever feel like if you take some time to relax and have fun, you will be more behind in your work or in your life?
I know I work too hard. Hubby lets me know. Not in words but in the way he looks. His smile is not the same. We might argue over small stuff that make no sense. We don’t cuddle up as much. Yea, I know I’m working too hard.
Problem is that when I do take time off, my head goes right back to what I “ought to be doing.” There is no fun in relaxing when your mind is elsewhere.
What can you do? Find something that really engages you fully. For me, it’s cooking. Yes, I love to cook and bake and when I do, I think of nothing else. I also love to read. I actually have a few books on the go at the same time.
The real secret to enjoying relaxing moments is give yourself permission to enjoy those moments. Guilt might creep in and tell you that you are being lazy or that you are wasting time, truth is, that there is no such thing as wasting time. It’s how you perceive that time that will create the experience you want.
So let me ask you. What do you do to relax?
Is there ever a time when you wished you could relax but you didn’t and then regretted it?
I’d love to hear about your experience.
